"I Am" begins playing, and a shower of sparks falls from the ceiling, amidst a blaze of golden light. Through the sparks, a man steps through. He stands posing, with only his silhouette seen through the sparks. As the sparks die down, the man is clearly seen as Chris Legend. We steps forward, drawing a mixed reaction from the crowd. He climbs into the ring, and quickly grabs a microphone, and begins speaking.
Once...
He laughs a little bit, as the crowd start mixed chants, with half of them shouting "LEGEND! LEGEND LEGEND!" and the other half yelling "CULLEN SUCK! CULLEN SUCK!". He bears a huge grin on his face, as he waits for the crowd to quiet down.
You guys almost through? Well, I'm starting anyway, and I really don't care if you guys keep yelling or not.
This turns most of the crowd into boos, as he just laughs and continues speaking.
See...once upon a time, I knew these three guys. They were all my friends, and we always worked together. We were really close. And then, everything went wrong. I found success. But, those three guys didn't like that. Oh no, they needed success, but realized that they weren't good enough to get it. So, they each decided to try something to get that success. One of them decided to remain my friend, and hope that I might help him. One of them just cut himself off completely, and totally ignored my existence. And, the final one...do you know what he did? He turned his back on me, and decided that if he made my life hell, he would find success.
Legend snickers a bit, and reaches into his pocket, and pulls out a picture, stares at it for a few moments, and put it back into his pocket.
Now, take a guess as to which of those 3 gained success. I'll give you a hint, it might be number one, it could be number 2, but there is no chance that it's number 3. The funny thing is that you know all three of these men.
The crowd begins shouting "TAKEOVER! TAKEOVER!"
Hmm. Close. Two out of the three are in Takeover. The other one is my very close friend. I'm not here to rant about him. So, let's just scratch number one off the list. Number two is currently a champion, so I can't really say his plan didn't work. Let's scratch him off the list too. That leaves number three. The man that's been making my life hell for his sick lulz. The man that can't seem to win a title, so he has to steal it. The man that has spent his entire career jobbing to people, and pushing their careers off, while he stayed at the bottom of the barrel. This man has had a big head recently, thinking he's the best thing to ever grace this company. And, you all are eating the hell out of his bait. I'm here to prove to you all that your "hero", is nothing but a stepping stone for everyone else in this business.
The crowd begins going wild, chanting "KJ KJ KJ!". Legend just stares at them, and snickers a bit more.
That's right, folks. You guessed it. Good ole' KJ Styles, or as you know him, Keith Jacobs. The man that never seemed to get his career off the ground. But yet, he seemed to launch several people into the spotlight. Several people that really didn't deserve it. Let's look at the facts here. 2 of the 4 feuds he's had, his opponent has gone on to win a championship. One of the other two made it to the championship match, only to be screwed out of it. Face it people, you're cheering for a nobody. You're cheering for a stepping stone. He has NEVER won a title in his career. Every title match he gets in, he gets dominated. Here, let's look at another one of his famous "stepping stone" moments. Last season, we saw a tag match for the Universal Title, featuring KJ, Dolan, Ebio, and King Slushy. KJ really controlled that match. He had it in the bag. He was a 3-count away from being a champion for the first time in his sucky career. Then, he makes a mistake, and tags Dolan in, and then, 3 seconds later, Dolan is the champ. Congrats, KJ, you've just launched the career of the biggest nobody in wrestling history.
The crowd surprisingly cheers at that statement.
Just look folks. KJ has more footprints on him than a football field. He decided to turn his back on me, and make my life hell, and look where it got him. In the bottom of the barrel, with the rest of his white-trash family. KJ, listen closely man. You'll never be successful. You will always fail at everything you do. You can never climb out of the hole you've dug yourself. That nasty legacy will follow you forever. And you can blame it all on yourself. you could have stuck with me, and found great success. But you didn't. You wanted to branch out, and prove that you were better than me. KJ, I'm a 2 time Bloodline Champion. I'm a former vice general manager. I'm the star that the people pay to see. I put butts in seats, KJ. You can never do that. You are a disgrace to anyone that has ever laced up boots. I would much rather SPIT on you, than offer you help. Even my BROTHER hates you! the very guy that you trained, and brought into this business! Guess what, KJ. Just another stepping stone.
The crowd again starts the mixed reaction, with half shouting "KJ! KJ! KJ!" and the other half shouting "LEGEND! LEGEND! LEGEND!".
KJ, I would love to steal your catch phrase, but, to be honest, I'm not sorry, that you're not a Winner. You are a failure. A disgrace. I hope you enjoy the life at the bottom of the food chain, because that's where you'll be FOREVER!
"I Am" begins playing again, and Legend drops the mic, and slowly makes his way out of the ring, taking in the mixed reaction from the crowd, and retreats backstage.
