Off RP: First RP on here, here goes.
A news conference has been called for a major announcement regarding top Hollywood star Macho Steele’s career.
A room full of journalists sit in front of a long empty table eagerly awaiting the arrival of this era’s best action film star.
After what seems like an eternity of waiting the door behind the table opens and out come Macho Steele’s agent Philip J.W. Anderson and an unrecognised man in a suit. A few seconds later, the man who they have all came to see Macho Steele enters the room, as always he is in pristine condition wearing shades and a shirt with the buttons undone to show his trademark ripped physique, he takes up his seat at the middle of the table.
The man to the right hand side of Macho Steele, Philip J.W. Anderson begins to speak,
“First of all I would like to thank you all from coming, we have an announcement to make, which I will be making in a few short minutes and then we will take any questions that you have. I would also like to point out at this time that Mr Steele will not be answering any questions and I will be answering them on his behalf. Before we get to the big announcement we have prepared a short video for you to view.”
The lights go out and the video begins, it’s a biography of Macho Steele’s career highlighting the movies and awards that he has gained. The lights come back on and Mr Anderson steps up to the mike again.
“As you can see from the footage that has just played, Mr Steele has had a decorated acting career. At this time I would like to tell you the sad news of his retirement from the film industry, fans of his need not worry as Mr Steele is not retiring full stop he is taking up a new career as a professional wrestler. The man in the suit to the left of Mr. Steele is J.J. Hunter from Michigan Wrestling Association or MWA as some of you may know it. Mr Hunter has offered Mr Steele a contract to become one of MWA highest paid stars and I am delighted to announce that we are accepting that offer and Mr Steele will be making his debut in the coming weeks. I will now open the floor to any questions”
A rabble goes up and fills the room as reporters try desperately to get there questions answered “You sir” as Mr Anderson points to one of the reporters.
Reporter 1: “Why quit the film industry for a career in professional wrestling?”
Mr Anderson: “Mr Steele feels that he has achieved all he can in the film industry and has always been a fan of professional wrestling so he sees this as the perfect time in his career to make the switch. Next question.”
Reporter 2: “My question is for Mr Hunter, it is safe to say that Macho Steele is far from the model pro, we have all seen the negative news stories, he has done a fair amount of community service. Is this a man you want to be representing your company?”
J.J. Hunter: “Yes we at MWA are all aware of the press that Mr Steele has received, we have been told that he has mended his ways and I for one believe it. This is a great business opportunity that I am sure will benefit both parties greatly.”
Reporter 3: “Mr Anderson, you say that Macho Steele has been a fan of wrestling for some time but will he be able to cope with the physicality of professional wrestling?.”
Mr Anderson: “Macho, as you can clearly see is in great shape. He is one of only a few Hollywood actors that do their own stunts I think he is in great condition to face anything the professional wrestling can throw at him.”
Reporter 3: “I don’t mean to be rude but there is a difference between acting and stepping into the ring to fight someone 1 on 1 how are you saying that the transition will be easy for Macho because I can’t see it being that way.”
Mr Anderson: “As we have pointed ou……” Macho Steele gets off his seat and makes his way to the podium grabbing the mike off Philip J.W. Anderson.
Macho Steele: “I have been sitting there hearing a lot of negativity towards my decision to go into professional wrestling. You want to know if I am tough enough!!? Take one look at me, I am chiselled out of stone. You think that just because I have been an actor I am not tough enough to cut it in wrestling? Let me tell you something, I always have and always will do my own stunts, I could and would have kicked every Hollywood stars asses if there was not a director there to yell cut every time a scene got physical. I am willing to take on all challengers, I am in the wrestling business for two things only, one to make a lot of money and two to kick a lot of ass because;
I have the BODY!!!,
the BRAIN!
and the ability,
to make you feel pain
This press conference is over!”
Macho Steele pushes the podium over and walks through the door behind him followed by his agent and a bewildered looking J.J. Hunter.
